Cardioversion

Cardioversion is a procedure used to change the patient’s heart rhythm from atrial fibrillation (or Atrial Flutter) to the normal human heart rhythm, known as sinus rhythm. Electrical cardioversion is also known as Direct Current Cardioversion (DCCV). Details on the procedure can be found in the attached Cardioversion factsheet from the Atrial Fibrillation Association.
